Life..

I have been hearing some complaints that I promised to write more often but that it has not been actually happening. Sorry about that but I guess I get too lazy sometimes.
So in this post I am going to specifically concentrate on this week.

I have installed dslibris on my Nintendo DS Lite, which has allowed me do read some ebooks I had on the lptop. Yes they are of the Fantasy genre. The dslibris project has matured very well and it is probably the only ds ebook reader that is still in development and has great featurs.
I have found that converting RTF ebooks into the required xhtml format works quite well and the reader is nearly on par with the DS 100 Classic Book Collection reader.

I have been reading David Gemell books, such as the Hawk Queen books and started on the Stones of Power series. I have always quite liked Gemell, especially his Druss the Legend books and tales about the Rigante. He drew heavily on historical events and cultures and that sometimes gets on my nerves but that does not stop the actual effect of the story, which works great. I especially liked the similarities to the Scottish clans in the Hawk Queen books. I had not realised he had passed away, he was one of the best British Fantasy authors.

Coming off the U-Bahn (on Tuesday I think) I walked right past a man on a wheelchair trying to get into the train. Now that is unlike me but I assumed he would be able to get in fine as it was one of those sporty wheelchairs you can do wheelys in and I had seen others doing the same to get into the train before. But of course that was not the case and he shouted on me for hel. I completely froze and my mind went shamefully blank. What do I do? I think the man sensed my confusion and probably that I could not speak German so he said "Lift".
I did not stop to think and actually started lifting the wheelchair, which  would have likely tipped the fellow out of his seat! I regained my senses on time, however and pushed down on the back so the front wheels would lift and pushed him into the train. I was glad I did a good deed, but the man probably thought I was an Idiot for not realsising what to do. At least I didn't tip him out of  his
 seat.

Wednesday I went to the Messe in Nurnberg for an SMT and Packaging
ehibhition with Abdul and a friend of his. We did not stay long as there was not much of interest, everthing was nearly the same and I had seen many of these things before.

I received an email from Ulla (my buddy here, who had helped a lot with various formalities) informing me aof a get together for the exchange students that shed had organised. I was definetely up for it and we all also went to a party at the Avenarius Student Wohnheim. I met plenty of new people and friends. Whoever said German folk were a bit aloof (Miss Kashmiri)? I have also been told about a trip to Berlin which I would like to go on.

I have not done much work on my project as I was waiting for parts. I had a quite long meeting with Prof. Rauch about it on Frideay where the first thing I was asked was "Please tell me what you have done". I guess I realised I had not done very much but it went fine and he also outlined some ideas he had which I spent the rest of the day researching.

I realise today that I really need to start properly on my thesis as in reality it has to be ready in less than three months. Sounds ages but it's not really since I want to go home for at least abot 10 days holiday as well, so two and a half months, no going out for drinks tonight...
